It is a loving voice which speaks to you, and that would speak, perhaps, better and more forcibly if it were not choked with love. 3. And then, thirdly, the effects and consequences of Christ's death. Christ, who purchased our justification for us, applies it to us, by his intercession made for us, his gospel preached to us, and his Spirit witnessing in us. But this explains it, when God accepts a sinner, he is, in fact, only accepting Christ. And now I have just to conclude by noticing the BLESSED EFFECTS of the Saviour's death. And people make mistakes many times in relationships because we relate on the physical, rather than upon the true nature of a person.Now, "He is despised and rejected of men; He is a man of sorrows, He's acquainted with grief.". The second effect of Christ's death is, "He shall prolong his days." (Ezra 3:10) So also in the hand of Christ shall prosper the will of God; that is, the Lord will cause the ministry of Christ to yield its fruit, that it may not be thought that he exposed himself fruitlessly to such terrible sufferings. The 'suffering servant' song of Isaiah 52:13-53:12 is one of the most significant of Messianic prophecies that we find in the Hebrew Bible. We adore him in the infinite majesty of his unutterable love. There is this to be said also for those who are called his seed that they prosecute the same ends, and expect to receive the same reward. Whatever is undertaken according to God's pleasure shall prosper, Isaiah 46:10; Isaiah 46:10. Dear children of God, do not be afraid that Christ's work will break down because he is dead.
